Why do you want donations?
Scanlation is a costly hobby. This is because we buy all the manga ourselves (okay, it’s not a we. It’s Ai that buys all the manga). Most of us are still in school, and therefore don’t have jobs during the school year, so we have no source of income (except birthday cash). And also, most of us would want to save that money for college, a car, or something more important to everyday life than manga.
At the moment, we use mostly magazine scans, which are printed on crappy newspaper print. This is because, again, I don’t have the money to go buy the tankoubon versions of the manga. Which leads us to the next question…

What would my donation go towards?
It would go towards, and only go towards buying new manga for Nagareboshi. Nothing else. Okay, it might also help with paying for the website bill, but that also relates to Nagareboshi.
If you were to donate, we would use that money to buy tankoubon volumes of the series we scanlate, and thus the readers (and editors) would enjoy higher-quality scans.

The scan on the left is a magazine scan (they’re clickable, by the way). The scan on the right is a tankoubon scan. They have not been edited in any shape or form. See the difference?

Okay, so how much do I donate?
It really doesn’t matter. Even a donation so small as $2 would help. Tankoubon are around $6 (USD) each. Big or small, we would appreciate any donation.
You can also request which series we buy, so long as it’s something we’re scanlating. ^^
